New York - Brooklyn

I moved from Brazil in 2015, and even though that wasn't very long ago, Brooklyn became my adopted home. I like the look of the local business signs and love to see all the flowers wrapped in plastic on the bodegas' sidewalks. The one on this poster is inspired by a bodega that I pass by constantly in Bushwick, where I live. Bushwick also has tons of well-dressed people, which is why I decided to depict someone walking by. (She turned out very similar to me, though.) Living in another country can be tough sometimes, but at this moment when I think of home I remember all the good times I am having there.

Niege Borges is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from the sometimes super cold, sometimes super hot south of Brazil. She has worked with clients such as Unilever, AMEX, Twitter, GE, IBM, Visa, Shutterstock, Seamless, and Canon. Niege is known for her colorful and fun designs, as well as her highly illustrated work. Even though she works with different illustration styles for her clients, she has her own personal style, which is very vibrant, irreverent, and modern.
