California - Newport Beach

Balboa Peninsula in Newport is where I spent my last 7 years, designing from my home office, taking breaks for Balboa Bars at the Fun Zone, and capping off every day with a walk down to 15th street for a sunset over the beach. The whole peninsula is only 4-5 blocks wide and surrounded by water. It was my muse when I needed inspiration, and my beta-blocker when I needed a break from it all.

Amy Hood is a brand designer, font designer, illustrator, and one half of the twin duo that founded Hoodzpah, Inc, a boutique brand identity agency in the hills of Southern California. You may know her from such fonts as Palm Canyon Drive and Beale. When she is not spewing Lakers stats at the local bar, Amy can be found driving up PCH, wailing along to honky tonk love songs, and looking for the closest In-N-Out. She co-founded the creative meet up #ConnectingThings and co-authored the book “Freelance and Business and Stuff: A Guide for Creatives” (#FABAS) with her sister Jennifer, based on the Professional Practices class they taught at Laguna College of Art & Design.
